So, We're Back Home Safe & Sound ... A Week Early!

I just got off of the train in Smithtown and arrived home. What a wild and crazy start to our missions trip! Everyone did a fantastic job arriving at the airport at the scheduled time, and the line was empty. I was very excited about this. Until, that is, the lady informed me that we were five months early. What? Somehow they had booked our travel for December, and we did not catch it on the paperwork. Interestingly, Kerry called last week to confirm our travel for this week, and they did not catch it either. I am still dazzled and confused about how this happened, but God is in control, and we trust that He has allowed this for His reasons. I will take responsibility on our end that the error was not caught, but how it even ended up in December I have not the slightest clue. The good news is that they were able to get us on a flight tomorrow at the same time, and we are now scheduled to return on the flight that we thought we were returning on next week. So, all in all, our trip has been shortened by exactly one day. The other good news is that while they wanted to charge us an additional $216 per person for the difference in airfare and a change penalty, after I petitioned them the airline was gracious enough to wave the penalty. This saved us $3,000. I am hopeful that we can make some adjustments within our trip to be able to absorb this without charging people extra. I apologize profusely for this! Please forgive me/us. Perhaps the one ray of redemptive value we have already seen is that this gives Shae (P-Shae) a chance to pack her deodorant (So she's not P-U)! Thank You Lord for your great mercy!!! (lol) Thank you moms and dads for your gracious response to this. See you all again tomorrow.

Love,

PK

First of all, how did you get John Monteiro to pose for a picture like this????

Second, when you guys get back, send Kerry over for a few beading classes so she can sell some jewlery to make up the difference for the flights!

Ha Ha! Thanks for being so cool. We were glad to allow the students an extra night with their families as a special surprise. Sorry it implies another run to the airport. lol
